Level 1 Player (MT Novel) - Chapter 47
Chapter 47 – Blue Drake II
I didn’t know how much time had passed outside the Drake’s stomach. I kept trying to cripple this monster even deeper from the inside, but it wasn’t easy. Adding to the difficulty was the fact that the only weapon I had was a broken vampire sword. I tried to get out of this life-threatening situation with it and my teeth.
The fact that the blue drakes had a good recovery rate also added fuel to the fire. The wounds I was trying to expand healed quickly. But the drake wasn’t standing still, it was pacing from corner to corner, so I had to work harder with my teeth and the stump of my sword. The more I tried, the quicker my stamina wore off. At some moments I was possessed by a longing for life, and at others my thoughts were filled with the awareness of imminent death.
I remembered the faces of my loved ones and, while continuing to endure all the infernal pain, I worked on. Expanding the wound in the Drake’s stomach, time after time, I recovered, and then I was digested again. And then the following happened.
[Your heroic Immortality skill has been improved.]
“What is that?” – I wondered, since I hadn’t learned any skills while in the monster’s stomach.
“Immortality got even better.
“Is it really all about the Drake blood?”
No, I’m sure the improvement in the skill was because of the blood I absorbed through the Vampire Sword and the Vampire Orb. It turns out that you can boost Immortality with more than just the skill books…
Now I had hope. And at the same time, my will and aspirations were strengthened. Breaking a man is not that easy!
Hope. When hope melts, a person’s will weakens. But if there is even a tiny glimmer of hope that you can cope with everything that is going on, you start to look at the situation differently.
I felt the strength return to my right hand, which made me work the vampire sword even harder.
Getting rid of the heroic-level monsters that appeared all over the country wasn’t easy. More than one or two monsters always emerged from the dimensional gates. And the number of Players that could deal with so many monsters tended to zero faster and faster. As a result, there was no one to send to Osan to fight the blue drake that had shown up there. And if you think that’s the end of it, you’re deeply mistaken. The government has decided to postpone the operation to fight the blue creature because there are bigger problems to be solved.
– What? Choi Hyun Seong is dead? – Shin Yoon Ah asked, petrified.
– It’s just a guess.
– How could this have happened? I told them to retreat!
– Choi Hyun Seong took it upon himself to block the gate. And he was closest to the blue drake who appeared from there. He received the order, but he probably couldn’t get away from it. That’s why we think he’s dead…
– Damn it! – Shin Yun Ah’s face twisted in horror.
Her head was filled with all sorts of thoughts. If we had our hands free, would Hyun Seong still be alive? That’s simply not possible. Urgent matters across the country required immediate intervention. Hundreds, millions of lives of the country’s population could not be sacrificed for the sake of one Player…
“Maybe I should have gone there myself.”
That, too, was impossible. When the cataclysm happened, Shin Yun Ah had a hard time herself. She was fighting monsters without the slightest right to rest. If she had gone to Osan, the damage at Seoul Station would have been much greater. And if Shin Yoon Asama had volunteered to go to Osan, the government and the Players’ Associations simply would not let her do so.
– Do the relatives already know about his death?
– I haven’t sent them a message, but I’m afraid information about the deceased Players is already going viral on the Internet without our efforts.
Shin Yoon Ah replied with a heavy sigh.
“I did it…!” – I mentally shouted.

After a while, after all my efforts, I was able to make a hole in the Drake’s stomach enough to get out. I continued to regain my strength with the Vampire Sword and the Vampire Ball. I also had Immortality and Survival Instinct reset every hour.
I engaged my only surviving arm and teeth again, and made my way out. And with that, the magic left me again.
“Aah!” I yelled even louder mentally, not feeling anything underneath me. – That’s a lot of blood!”
My vampire sword and orb greedily absorbed the blood of the Drake. It wouldn’t be long before I had to recover my entire body, and then get out into the white light.
I swung the Vampire Sword in different directions. Together with the orb, it began to greedily absorb blood from the oozing wounds, thereby restoring my magic and stamina.
The blue drake went mad. I thrust my sword deeper to endure the shaking. It happened again and again. As a result, my body slowly returned to normal, my left arm and the rest of my torso gradually returning to its original appearance.
I wasn’t absorbing as much blood as I had originally planned. Besides, Drake’s wounds were healing very quickly. I wiggled my limbs around me and felt a vibration, then listened for a slight thud. Without thinking, I headed toward its source. My recovered left arm allowed me to move faster through the monster’s insides.
I could feel the vibration more strongly now. Sure enough, I stumbled upon the monster’s blood vessel!
“Dagger of fire.”
I put all my leftover recovered magic into one skill. The shard that was left of my Vampire Sword went up in flames, and I sliced open one of the blue drake’s blood vessels.
The monster roared and began to lose its mind. I thrust my sword into its body, and with the other hand I grabbed the blood vessel. At that instant, a flood of blood poured out, and I felt the sword and orb replenish my health and magic. And through the regenerating stamina, the Immortality skill was activated, so my body began to regain its pristine appearance much faster.
Blood continued to trickle from the vessel. I activated the sting to keep the open wound from healing, and continued to shred the monster’s blood vessels.
How long did it take me to do all this work?
I finally got my body and magic fully restored. The blue drake had calmed down a bit, too. Now the monster was a “mess” inside… It had lost a lot of blood, and its internal organs were on their last legs. No matter how strong the blue drake was, it could not attack the enemy inside its body. He was having a hard time surviving such a battle, so now the thing that had tormented me was slowly dying.
I didn’t hesitate long, and took an upward thrust, wanting to slit the monster’s throat from the inside. I could barely feel the blue drake’s heartbeat, so I changed my trajectory and plunged the stump right into its heart. The blood gushed. I continued to plunge my sword into the most important organ of the living thing, and as a result, the monster’s heart was gone. Its body also gradually began to disappear.
And the following happened.
The remnants of the monster’s magic, which normally turn into an object or a stone, began to be actively absorbed by my body and the vampire sword.
“What’s going on…?”
This was the first time I’d ever seen something like this.
[Your passive heroic skill Immortality improved]
[Your Passive Heroic Immortality skill has been improved]
[Your Passive Heroic Immortality Skill Improved]
This phrase kept repeating until the following appeared:
[Your active heroic level skill Lightning Breath improved]
[Skill level changed to unique-heroic]
[Skill name changed to “Breath of Thunder and Lightning”]
My heroic skills have been pumped up. I knew that Immortality could be improved, but not to pump up Lightning Breath that much. Also, along with the skill boost, the level with the name changed as well.
[Incredible Achievement (Rare)]
You killed a rare named monster of high level, the difference with which exceeded 200 levels.
Reward: Rank [First Level Destroyer (Rare)
[Incredible Achievement (Heroic)]
You killed a rare named monster of high level, the difference with which exceeded 300 levels.
Reward: Rank [First Level Destroyer (Heroic)
“And this guy turned out to be no ordinary…”
To my surprise, the blue drake was a named monster. Besides, there seemed to be no end to the new achievements either.
[Incredible Achievement (Heroic)]
You killed a rare named monster of high level “Zetus”-blue drake.
Reward: Rank [Knocked down Zetus, the blue drake, single-handedly (heroic)]
(P.p.: Zetus – in ancient mythology Zetus and Amphion are twin brothers, sons of Zeus).
The accomplishments ended there.
“Hmm, is that all?” – I thought at first and heard the notification bell again.
[Your rare Vampire Sword item has been restored.]
[Item level changed to unique-heroic]
[Item name changed to “Sword of Hemolysis”]
(P.p.: Hemolysis is the destruction of red blood cells, releasing hemoglobin into the environment.)
The sword, broken in half, returned to its former state. But there were some changes. This concerned not only its form, but also its level, and even its name. It turns out that not only skills, but also items can undergo improvement.
In addition, the residual magic that couldn’t be absorbed into my body began to transform into something else. After a while, a skill book appeared in front of me.
Passive ability: increases defense, resistance, lightning attack resistance.
[Do you want to read Thunderscale heroic book?]
Of course I chose the “Yes” option.
– What? What happened? – Shin Yoon Ah confusedly asked her colleagues.
– It’s…” one of the coworkers, Park Woo Dae, started to speak.
This situation is so absurd and unbelievable. The blue drake continued to behave very strangely, then froze and just left this mortal earth.
– Is he sick?
– Sick? Have you ever heard of such a thing?
No one here knew how to report the incident to the Players’ Association.
– What? There’s a man in there!
– I said there’s a man in there.
Shin Hyo Seong and Park Woo Dae had excellent eyesight because those two are top notch archers.
– Let’s go take a look.
And they went to the place where the heroic level monster had just died.
