Chapter 24 – Immortality

It was in the middle of our game of hide-and-seek. It was just me and the red-haired leopard. In other words, there was a fierce war going on in the Red-Haired Wolf dungeon. All because some Players discovered the corpses of others and decided to hastily retreat and report the terrible incident to the security staff. They, in turn, called in reinforcements and entered the dungeon. This was done in order to quickly retrieve the Players’ bodies and destroy the cause of the problem itself.

“Why is everything like this?”

The security personnel became more serious when they finally saw the mangled bodies of the murdered men. It was impossible to ignore the huge marks of someone’s claws and teeth on the corpses.

– The thing seems to be headed that way,” one of the security men said. – It’s definitely not your average dungeon monster.

The security guards got pretty tense after they found out where the beast’s tracks lead.

– We’re going there together, aren’t we? – One of the officers muttered excitedly.

– Are you suggesting we do nothing?

– We haven’t been contacted by the staff directly guarding the spatial gate. Do you think that if we confronted the owner of these trails, we could do better?

In response to this, the others simply remained silent. Although they were security officers, they themselves were still very young and green, as they had only recently taken their first job. Besides, there was no law under which they had to be subjected to such a thing.

– That’s exactly why I can’t stay away. Let’s go take a look,” said one employee, getting up the courage.

– Well, then go alone. I wouldn’t want to die like this for nothing.

– Hey, what about the Players, who are still in the dungeon?

– How the hell should I know? I’m here to guard the newcomers who hunt red-haired wolves, not to deal with this monster.

There was a conflict between the security officers.

Everyone else, however, was well aware that in order to catch the monster they had to unite and act together. Besides, they were sure that otherwise they would not die in vain.

Mage Players, depending on the dungeon, have very strong attacks. But unfortunately, that only works in a certain dungeon.

But after all, the Hydra couldn’t regenerate wounds inflicted by fire. So it’s a completely different monster, since it had no problem repairing the wounds I had thoughtfully cauterized with fire.

If the other Mage Players saw this, they must have been frightened. They must have thought that if you took the skill personally, you could get hurt.
